Research Links Maintained by the condensed matter Physics Lab
Condensed Matter Physics Laboratory was established at the department of Physics of Sree Narayana College, Kollam in 2000 by Dr.P.Predeep with the aim of developing a full-fledged Centre for advanced research in Materials Science. The Condensed Matter Physics Lab at the department offers state of the art research facilities for PhD, M.Phil and M.Sc project research. Though Dr.P.Predeep had moved out of the SN College for taking up the assignment as Professor of physics at the National Institute of Technology, Calicut, he still continues as a Research supervisor of the Kerala University through this centre and keeps his links with the condensed matter physics laboratory and guides research scholars through the department. He will continue to be available with the physics department of the college for research activities.

Research staff included 15 research scholars and two research fellows. Ph.D programmes with Kerala, Mahatma Gandhi & Rajasthan Universities & HNB Garwal Universities are available at the CMP Lab. Two patents have already been field for rights by Dr.PPradeep. Condensed Matter Physics Laboratory has research links with
1. Inter University Consortium for Department of Atomic Energy Facilities 2. Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research 3. Department of Physics, University of Rajasthan 4. Abdul Salam International Centre for Theoretical Research. (Member: Donation Programme) 5. Manila University, Philipenes 6. Department of Chemistry, Warsaw University Warsaw, Poland 7. Sn College Research Facilities For The Benefit Of Local Population (Mou Between Barc And Sn College)
Currently a major project for studying the effect of natural background radiations on human population in the monazite bearing sea cost of Kerala is being implemented by the Condensed Matter Physics laboratory. This project is based on an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the college and the Bahaba Atomic Research Centre (BARC). Dr.P.Predeep was instrumental in taking up this project.
The current project implementation person is Prof. Remadevi. K |
